Roadtrip to locate our childhood friends...

This was written on 05/12/2010 when we were trying to organize the 25 years re-union of the class of 1985, APRST to be held on 26th December, 2010. Four of us were trying to locate the whereabouts of our childhood friends based on the addresses from school records!!! We did succeed in finding about 10 friends...

Regarding the trip, we covered 1000km in 2 days! Rambabu provided the car, ACS and Reddy provided the muscle (driving the car) and I did nothing!!!!

We had enjoyed beautiful village scenery (Read 'Palle Paduchula andaalu'), some cold beer in the car and whiskey and rum in the evening to celebrate our success in locating some of our friends with whom we lost touch.

Some of these villages are so remote, it again made us wonder how some of us made it to APRST. I think most of us owe a big thanks to our village teachers who told us about APRST and encouraged us to leave our homes behind in search of good education.

From this road trip I understood that the ties that bind us are still strong and those formative years are an integral part of our adult psyche. Every hour we spent together in last two days gave rise to a fresh memory of the school and I dont remember laughing so much in the recent past; recollecting some of the incidents from our school days.

Let us all meet up on December 26th (if possible) and be our childhood selves again! Let's give back something to school from which we have all gained so much.
